Default Anyone had a problem installing a trackbar?

Anyone had a problem installing a trackbar?, well I sure did. I tried installing my new track bar tonight and to no use the ball joint end that goes into the frame mount on the drivers side would just not let go and come out. I didn't have any impacts or air guns with me but I still managed to get all the bolts off without to much trouble-I even used the new trackbar to try and pry the old one off and that still didn't work-Any suggestions for the next time I try and tackle this monster?

Same thing happened to me. Finally put the bolts back in and drove it to a shop. Stupid track bar. Now it's worn out again. You'll need a pickle fork or puller.

with the right tools, it's not that hard. It probably would have been cheaper to buy the tool, then it would have been to take it to the shop

You gotta wack it with a BFH and have somebody move the steering wheel back and forth. Moving it back and forth helps put it back in too

I just did one. I had to buy an air hammer with a pickle fork attatchment. That helped but didnt quite work so I had to put a long piece of pipe through the wheel well and onto the top mounting part. Then I beat the hell out of it with a hammer. Worked good. Wiggling the steering wheel will probably help too.

Like these guys said, if not worried about mucking up the boot, use a pickle fork to pop it off. If you don't have one of those, use a small sledge and hit the mount repeatedly, usually that's enough on its own to get it out.

This is the same technique I use for all the TREs and such.
