Default Boosting HP with a resistor

I have heard all over, you can simply add a resistor somewhere to gain up to 25hp without spending 300 bucks on a module. If this is true, does anyone have any info on this, the type of resistor needed, and the place to install it? Also is it noticible if you change out the stock air flow system to a modded one. thanks

The reasoning is that im **** poor broke due do divorcing my wife, i got to keep my boat. The last time i towed it down to my buddies house, i noticed my truck is seemingly getting tired of hauling this 3500lb boat all over the place, i need cheap, practical to get a little more ponies out of her. thanks gurus!

1998 1500 SLT ext cab 4x4, 5.9L. 87k miles all stock

You're talking about those "magic chips" they sell on ebay that are nothing more than a 25 cent resistor....no, they don't work. If they did, every racer wanna-be in the USA would have one.....!!!!

I agree. Spend your money elsewhere. It's a boondoggle, just like those Tornado air swirly rip offs.
