SCT tuner??? what is it?
Thats the latest in tunes, puts the Hypertech and Superchips to shame and is better than the B&G flashes. You can get 3 tunes(most go economy/tow/performance)with it and it is an email away for another tune if you make changes. Big changes to motor and it will cost for the tunes but minor changes are free. Heard of guys making some good power gains with them and are almost as good performance wiseas a stand alone engine management (no data log/on the fly tune/monitoring).

I can't say for sure that my RPM's will be the same as someone with a stock PCM. For example, I idle at 900 rpm. This is part of my B&G tune. Not sure if highway speed rpm's are difernet too.

I reset the idle air counts per the bionicdodge.com downloads page. The idle is right about 800rpms now. I like it much better now. It did not change my rpms at highway speeds though.

Steve, you've been lurking in 3rd gen and diesel land too long.

SCT tuner is a way to basically dyno tune your truck without the stand alone management systems as RM stated. If you upgrade your truck with heads, cam, nitrous, supercharger, stroke it, etc. You can have the program tweaked to maximize timing tables and other variables for your mods. Take it to a dyno and email the results and they can further dial it in, email you back a new tune, and download it into the tuner via your computer. Smaller mods like headers, modding the keg, and other small bolt ons are also optimizeable as well, and most of the tuner guys won't charge for it.

RM_Indy,

Sean at KRC told me that data logging was coming but still a few weeks off. Doubt it will ever have on-the-fly tuning, but hey, it doesn't cost what a FAST system does.

Oh one other thing,

Sean told me a few guys had asked him for a "Valet Tune" so the valets couldn't pull a Ferris Bueller in your ride. I thought that was kinda funny. Might be good if you had a Teenager driving the truck though.

Yes, you must change both sets or you'll be picking up pieces of your entire driveline off the ground when you engage 4WD.
