Front brakes???
I was just curious, I did my front brakes yesterday and I noticed that I've got dual pistons on the front calipers and I remember a lot of guys on here talking about how they only had a single piston. Did 2001 1500's come with a dual piston option , heavy duty, or were mine upgraded at some point prior to me buying the truck?
Nix that one, Looked on Genos garage to figure it out. 2000-2001 1500's came with a dual piston caliper set up.
But, it seems that I have to pull the entire assebly apart into almost two pieces to get the outer pad out. Is this normal cause its a real pain in the a**! Although it does make it easier to grease the whole thing!

Yeah the truck came with dual piston calipers? What do you mean you have to pull the entire assembly apart? You pull the caliper off and the pads come out. They are super easy to change on these trucks along with the Rotors. The pads are imo about like most other vehicles they are a fairly simple job but the rotors are super easy on these trucks too. Not like that on all vehicles. I've done the brakes several times on my truck.
What exactly is the problem your having getting the pad out? It never seemed any more complicated than any other car I've done brakes on. Or bike really for that matter.
