Default cup holder bulb replacement

can anyone let me know what im gonna need to do to replace the bulb for my cupholder. i looked at it a little bit today before class, but had to leave before i could tear anything apart. i didnt think it would be a problem until this last weekend when i went to put my pop in what i thought was my cupholder, only to find out that i spilt a full 24oz cup of dew all over my carpet.

any help is much appreciated

With the cup holder down, you should see a small square shaped "panel" towards the back top of the cup holder. I believe there is a single tab on it, holding it. Push the tab, slide/pull it out. Replace the bulb.

I can't remember what type of bulb it is... take the bad bulb out and into any auto parts store. Find one that matches, buy it, use it to replace the bad one.

Its been a while since I replaced my cupholder (truck came with a broken one, got another off of ebay cheap and put it in), but I believe thats accurate.

that makes since, there really are a lot of differences between the automatics and manuals interior. I think my center console subwoofer box would probably be a better design in an auto, but I still like it even in my manual.

That bulb is either a #161 or a #194, can't remember which, leaning toward #194. There's also a blue sleeve that goes over the bulb to make the color match the rest of the interior. This cupholder is only on the 98+ autos. The older ones have a really crappy cupholder.

Now I'm going to have to check mine out. Don't recall ever seeing a light there either. Thanks for the info.
