Water pump pulley. hmmm. See I would think that, but I had the sound prior to replacing the Water pump.

WHere can you buy an original OEM belt? I had bought a Gatorback, but they sent me one for a Dakota, which my dad has, so I just kept it. I went to Advance and got a dayco? i think. It was a 27 dollar belt whatever the brand is.

I'll be takin it to a local mechanic in the morning.

The only place you can OEM is through the dealer.

Yeah i was hoping I was wrong about that, lol. But I was curious, ya know wal mart carries a little Mopar stuff. IDK if Mopar would make a belt or if it would be under Chrysler. Regardless, I fixed it today. Turned out the belt they sold me at Advance was a 6 rib, and I need a 7 rib. Ol buddy of my dad's works there, he swapped it out no problem. Truck runs awesome.

Yeah it got rid of the squeal entirely. Mine is the Dayco as well, it should be like 9075 on the end of the numbers and have 7 ribs, or 6 valleys. The mech. buddy we showed it too looked at it and said "wrong belt". We felt pretty dumb. lol. But you could see it didn't line up correctly, and the teeth weren't in the grooves on the pulleys. All of that slipping and wind caused the increased squeal upon acceleration.

You also want to check that your belt isn't stretched out. I doubt after a year it would be, but stranger things have happened. Did you try any of that belt dressing?

Congrats on getting hitched!!!

I also had the squeeling pulley problem, and it ended up being my tensioner pulley. I eventually got tired of spraying wd-40 on it every other morning so i just went to the dealer and got a replacement, and installed it the next day myself. Fairly easy install, just looked at the my service manual at how to do it!

Now, I need to get that rattling cat fixed, along with a new exhaust! It always seems after i fix one problem, another one appears?????
