Default Fuel Gauge

Fuel gauge isnt reading. its on e all the time. i thought when i replaced the fuel pump that it had a bad sending unit. so i dropped the tank today, and put in the spare pump that i have. same damn thing. wires goin into the pump look fine. i dont know, what else could be the problem?

Had the same problem on a 97 2500 and it turned out that one of the wires in the harness was broke about 3/4 of the way back. The tape was still on the lume it just some how broke.

yeah i was gonna say its either a wire problem or you guage is somehow bad.

Maybe you should put some fuel into the tank, that might make it stop reading "E" all the time.

I have a problem along those lines. Mine hit the 1/4 tank mark an boom thats empty. I thought the gauge was sticking but it only takes 16 gal to fill again so I know its a 1/4 tank. I replaced the sending unit an never changed a thing.
