Default Barking sound when turning

99 Ram 1500 4x4 quad cab.

started barking when in extreme turn (parking).
checked pwr steering... low but not horrible. Filled and noise diminished for a day or so.

Checked fluid- still full- however some drips showing up on ground under driver frt about 1" from tire.

barking getting worse with less turning...

Bad pwr steering pump?

Other suggestions?

Thanks!

Yes- barking. (Arr arr arrr or whoop whoop whoop- whichever you prefer).
Sounds like a wailing dog.

I think I know what it is. When you turn, try to avoid hitting the dog that is crossing the street.

Silver, I was gonna go there,, Yes I was. lol, actually my wife's car does something similar, cept I think she has a bird stuck in her power stearing, cuz she has a chirp lol. No but seriously, she does have a chirp when she blocks the wheel, I assume its low Power steering fluid or bad power steering (or dying) pump,... I need to check my wife's car one out too.. cept Her car is a PITA to work on, (99 Concorde 3.2 v6)

We may need video documentation to solve the mystery of what animal is stuck in your steering

Might be a bad u-joint, or possibly the hub bearing. Jack it up and see if the wheel moves as if you're testing for a bad ball joint. If it moves and you don't see the ball joint move then it's probably the bearing.

Does it 'bark' when the tires are moving? or also when their still? (turning but not moving)
