Default Stroker and Rear-end

2 questions :
Alright well im trying to decide on which to buy but i need to ask a question first. KRC Performance has the 408 balanced boosted stroker kit and the 426 stroker kit. I have a 95 5.9 Ram and my main question is, will the 426 kit work with the older style 5.9?

Next is once i get all my changes in order with all performance wise matters will our rear-ends take much abuse? I have bent the spider gear pin once and i know they are also very light all together. What other options of actual cores are therefor high horse power and torque ranges ?

Thanks guys!

im sure they make kits from 94 on up , its a magnum motor but 1 problem , what about the PCM that will have to be upgraded to and since you have a OBD I your kinda limited on that , gears will give a very nice boost and less hassle ...

High mileage on factory parts still in that 95 rear endthen itwill not like it.
Is this a lifted 4x4 or 4x2?

Tune will be an issue, best to check with KRC. Imnot sure if the SCT tuner works on obdI. If not, maybe able to use an SMT6 or if more on the radical level, FAST or ACCEL stand alone engine management.

weeeeeelllll good question.... i could try and keep an eye out for a Performance PCM but they are hard to come by. I know there is a problem w/ having a OBD I but not exactly clear on why. Is it because it would be hard to tune it if i were to give it more fuel/power/spark ect? If i understand that much correctly, couldyou can over come that by what they call 'flashing' the pcm? I read that it is possible to flash a OBD I if the right equipment is used?

Sorry should have specified more specifics-
1995 Ram1500 Std Cab 4x2
LOTS of mileage....... 200k to be exact, but its going to be a serious project.
My project, no one elses, appreciate the negative comments before they occur- THX

I read into the F.A.S.T. Stand alone systems and seems to fit what im looking to achieve. I will give KRC a call or email and see for sure.

With fresh rear end parts, it can take 400-500rwhp unless your thrashing it. 4x4 probably wont take as much on bigger tires.

B&G and one or two othersuse toflash obd1 pcms but no one I know of is doing it anymore.

What trans are you planing on running? I am saving to build me another stroker and this one will be turbocharged. I plan to run a 518a trans because the manual trans wont handle the hp that will be produced (600rwhp). as far as the rear end, I am looking at a dana 60. I havent seen to many good axels for the 9.25" rear diff's. Let us know what PCM you will run because I will go through the same problem. I also have a 95 with 220+K miles. Still running strong.

I am trying to research everything one at a time. I know my truck will end up being a money pit but it use to be my dads truck, so its got some personal value no matter its condition. Its just one of those things no matter how tight money gets i cant sell it- its never left me stranded other that the rear-end and tranny issue i had 3 years ago. Anyways, i have tried researching replacement transmisions or what would work wih our truck but there isnt much to break it down so im just learning as i go. Im really looking into the F.A.S.T. stand alone system. I emailed KRC to ask a few questions about it and the 426 kit and what fuel system and ignition system should be run with it and just waiting on the reply. I will let you guys know what the response is.
