Default Replaced front hub on my 97 1500 4x4

I thought I had a bad u-joint on my 97 until I jacked up the front end. The passenger side wheel wobbled so much I thought it was going to come off in my hand! I knew instantly that the hub was shot, so I read some threads on here about replacing the hub and decided to try it. One of the things that helped me the most was someone posting this link: http://www.pavementsucks.com/tech/hub.php

I don't know if I was blessed or not, but it was really quite easy. The only difficult thing was finding a 1 11/16 socket, which I did at TSC for $12.50. The hub cost me $155.00 at Advanced and I also bought a u-joint for $15.00, I figured I'd replace that while I was doing it.

I would tell anyone who has some mechanical ability to go ahead, it's not as bad as you think!

One more thing, you'll probably need a long pipe to use with your 1 11/16 socket to get the axle nut off.

Don't know yet, haven't taken a closer look yet. I'm not in a huge hurry since i'm not driving the truck much.

The write-up was very accurate, the only other "tips" I would offer is to use PB Nutbuster or Liquid Wrench on the axle nut and the 3 bolts. I also had my wife hold the brake on while I loosened the axle nut.
