Default 35" tires?

My ram right now has 285/75/16 tires with no lift and no rubbing. I was wondering how much of a lift is required to clear 35" BFG Mud Terrain or similar tires on the truck. Can this be done with a leveling kit, or is a full suspension lift needed? The truck also currently has 3.55 gears. Would it be necessary to change the gears out to 4.10's to keep the truck as streetable as it is now? The truck sees primarily street use with occasional mud.

at leat 5" lift (others will say no lift is needed i call BS on it , rubbing issue) with 35s need at least a 4.56 gears good street ,offroad gear.. add some more pep to it 4.88s but not good for long driving (highway) cause of the heat it will build..

I'm going to say you won't know until you do it. I have basically the same make/model as you but different year, and I have 285/75/16 and I experience rubbing when turning sharp to the left. Unless it is because of the fact your 285's are bald and mine are relatively new, I'd say it's going to be hard to predict what's going to happen.

I have a 3in lift and 35s and mine rub really bad. Just when I turn really sharp. I also trimmed the inner fender a bit to. I have the factory 4 link in the front. But I will soon replace them with a new custom set i ust got from Top Guns Custom. Should not have reb after.

I have an 01 Offroad edition ram and I have 35"s on stock Sport rims. Mine will rub at full lock on the trailing arms. Now if I were to stuff the tire up into the fender it will probably rub on everthing under there but I don't offroad it so I really don't have to worry about that.

I had 35's on my 98 RCSB 4x4 with a 3" body lift and rubbed the black plastic well liner on extreme turns. Did just a tad of trimming with a dremmel and had no further issues...
