mopowar, I wouldn't think it'd crank without the pcm plugged in?
Mine does. That's how I do a compression test. I'm to lazy to unplug all the individual injectors.

Little hard on the injectors though, hammering dry and no fuel to cool them. I'd unplug the injectors and just jumper whatever's needed to get it cranking (would have to look at the diagrams) ...mopowar, I wouldn't think it'd crank without the pcm plugged in? Might though. It wouldn't be a bad idea to throw a charger on for a few minutes between tests, just for more consistent readings.
The injectors just operate on a simple electromagnet principle, there isn't a whole lot of heat involved in that process. It's basically just copper wound round the inside of the injector that is hit with electricity to open and close the nozzle and spray fuel. The pressure on the nozzle is supplied by the fuel pump.

Pull the ASD Relay. That kills power to the injectors and coil.

Your numbers sound pretty good though

This is another good option. I made a backing plate for the fuse/relay box cover and mounted the msd box to it. I have to cut a couple of tie wraps to get it off. Much easier for meto unplug the pcm. Also, if you pull the pump relay, you'll have to release the pressure off of the rails or you will still be spraying/dribbling fuel. I guess you could pull the relay, start it up and run it until it quits. Pulling the asd relay would be a better option.

Another handy tool for a compression test is a remote starter. After chocking the throttle open, it will allow you to watch the gauge and see how the pressure builds up.
