Default Turbo or Supercharger?

What do you think would be best to put on my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500. its got the 5.9L motor and i was thinking about boosting it but wasn't sure on the best place to get a kit from and if it would be worth the money. Any suggestions? Thank you.

For a Big V8 I would go with Supercharger. If it was a 4 then a turbo.

But that is just me

A Supercharger would be best for our engines as it will help throughout the entire power range, turbo's usually only help with higher RPM's.

Now that being said, You will be hearing other opinions here and some of them will totally disagree with me. However, this is my personal opinion and that is what you asked for.

If I could afford to run a supercharger I'd be on the hunt for a kenne bell. Its a twin screw design instead of a centrifugal like the procharger.

Nevermind. i went on their website but they don't have one for my motor. It's only for the newer Hemi's with the 5.7Lin them. I'm trying to find a twin screw supercharger..I've checked Whipple but not to many people carry ones for Dodges.

Guys,

I dont want to be the ugly duckling, but if I had the money for the upgrade, I would probably go with a turbo. I am a Dodge guy to the heart, but I have a link here with a chevy that has a sweet turbo setup that I would probably try(If it sucks, there is always EBAY).
I think it is a sweet setup how you replace your muffler with a turbo. I like my 1500 with the flowmaster system, but ther is something about a turbo that makes a ebgine sound bad ***.The truck is a 5.3 and runs great. A 318 or a 360 would run better though.

Here's one on a real truck (DODGE). This guy has a pretty cool setup. The intercooler uses water that is chilled by the a/c compressor and coils:
