while having not tired the round setup, I can say that the K&N kit I had worked awesome, also allowed me to go to a different filter that was bigger. (6x9 round IIRC)... that swap gave me more power & torque in OD which was noticeable in the mountains... tranny didnt downshift as much as with the stock filter.
