The Age old question - Steering Issues
I am having issues with my steering, have replaced all components that are bad and i have ordered a pro fab track bar which the alighnment shop is telling is not bad but will help with the problem...
I have a 6.5 inch lift on my truck with 37 inch cooper stt on it and my control arm caster adjusters are 180 degrees offset which is causing my right side of the axle to be shifted 3\4 of an inch rearward in the truck...
The shop tells me that is normal but i still have issues with it pulling to the LEFT and wandering in the road and they tell me that is the best it will get because of the lift and tires, now i have had trucks with 44 inch hawgs and 40 inch swamppers on them and have been able to let go of the wheel at 80 mph and it run straight down the road...
Any Ideas????
Thanx

Thuren fabrication sells HD stearing kits. Not sure what youve replaced. The track bar should help with wandering.

I slid off the road the winter before last and now my steering is off. Whenmy wheel is straight it pulls left. The tires are for the most part aligned. I think it's not so much the alignment but the relation between the wheels and the steering pump. Rule one of an alignment is straighten the steering wheel then work on toe. One thing you could try is drive to an open lot or even in your driveway you can do this if it's big enough. Make sure the lot is level and won't throw things off. Roll the truck slowly with your hands off the wheel. This will straighten the steering wheel and pump. Now without moving the steering wheel park it and set the e-brake.Make sure you have a tape measurer and measure your toe in relation to a parallel referance point such as a frame. Take 4 mesurements. Front of left tire to frame, back of left tire to frame, front of right tire to frame, and back of right tire to frame. If the measurements don't add up it might just be a steering mis-alignment. Your toe could be dead on but if the steering wheel isn't straight it'll still pull.
