For those of you with tranny problems
Just one little tip that has kept mine and my dads 97 rams going for a long time with only routine tranny services (filter included). In the trans cooler lines going to the passenger side of the radiator, there is a little valve or check ball in one of the lines (top one I think). get rid of the connector (hose clamps will hold just fine) and removed the check ball. The transmission has to see X amount of pressure before moving the vlave to open the line. We both have also installed :Younger" brand shift kits. Dad tows heavy equipment with his while mine is still holding under the pressures of a 426 stroker... more than I can say for the rear end and tires! 156,000 on dads truck and 140,000 on mine. no hiccups to date.
You're not talking about the temp coupler are you? If it's the anti-drain back, I'm not sure I'd remove it. It keeps fluid where it's supposed to be. If it's the temp coupler (whatever it's called) it would depend on where you live. In a could climate, it will take forever to build pressure. Not a good thing. If you're in a warm location, it's probably not a big deal.
