Default name that noise

Sort of like name that tune I guess

When I let the clutch out for the first time after parking her I hear an audible metallic sliding or mild clunking noise. I dont feel anything loose, just the audible noise. It doesnt seem to matter how aggressively I accelerate either. Any ideas? Brake job recently and I'm pretty sure that isn't the culprit, it sounds as if the axle is sliding on the leaf but no physical evidence of that.

I tried to search, but didn't get much help there. any thoughts are appreciated.

I don't think its the throw out bearing. It makes the noise most audibly when cold. I dont hear it at every stoplight, but always on the way out of the driveway. I will try not setting the parking brake and test that theory.

Thanks guys.

if its sort of a whining sound that comes/goes as you feather the clutch in/out, its the throw out bearing. the good thing about that is you can keep driving it for a long time, and just put up with the noise.
