Disadvantages of coil spring spacers?
Can anyone tell me the disadvantages of a 2" coil spring spacer for the front of my 2WD 95 ram? Will it wear any parts or tires or anything like that? Also who sells them at a good price? Thanks alot
I am also interested, from my understanding it makes the ride stiffer, but that is all heresay at this point for me. I would love a good answer as well.
IMHO, it is not worth it, because it is probably going to change your front end alignment as well.
You may get away with say a 1" or 1 1/2" spacer . Check here www.rockymountainsusp.com/dodge2wd.htm

i put the 2" spacers in my truck about 2 years ago. it definitely made the ride stiffer. you can really feel it when going around corners in that the front end doesn't dip from side to side as easy. the only thing about them is they only raised my truck about an inch in the front. it might be because of the extra weight from my brush guard but i dont know.
ive had my spacers in for a couple months now and havent had any problems. my rides stayed the same and you do not need an alignment, ive put prolly 3k on it and everythings fine. no tire wear etc. just my 2 cents

I used to have them in my dakota before. I had them for 2years or so. There was a harsher ride, but hey its a truck not a caddy!
Some people say it messes up the aliment. I had mine checked it was fine. Some say it will kill the ball joints. I had a tight strong steering. No ball joint problems. I say go for it. Its worth it. Check out this site for great prices. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku
