Default Help...No start 98 Ram 1500

I need some help here. This morning my Ram would not start. The motor turns over but no start, the only way I could get it to fire was to apply slight gas pedal pressure, as long as I hold the pedal down it will run the second I release the pedal the motor dies. I am sure someone here can point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Dan

the trottle is completely closed not allowin any air in so when u press the gas a lil it gives it air to fire, when i replaced my engine mine was doing that just had to adjust the trottle body cable to leave it open just a hair and it runs fine

welcome to df.
probably the IAC not opening up and allowing air to bypass the closed throttle plates.
i'd recommend either a SMP brand or Mopar brand. i had a lot of bad luck with Autozone and Advance.
IAC is on the back side of throttle body, 2 #25 torx screws.
don't forget the o-ring.
