Part Number 5FR421AZAD, Cup holder is broken again. I drink some heavy coffee I guess. Seems it is not the best designed piece on the truck. I figure you might have a similar problem and maybe a simple fix. If you do please share it with me. Those 2 little plastic holes break pretty easy where all the weight goes and the 2 little prongs fit on either side. A careless passenger or a moving package in the cab and smack its down again, the circular holes are no longer circular. Thanks for your thoughts.

 

Wow first post I have done in a long time!

Anyway...I know your pain all too well. Mine kept breaking, I'd fix it and bang break again. Hit a bump or too heavy of a drink and poof! In addition my CB was below on the ground and more than one did liquid spill on it. Luckily for me no damage to it!

My Solution: I looked for the part and found it costing between $65-80 OEM. That was just plain stupid, so I bought a cup holder on ebay that molds to my center fold down console. Then I tooked apart the center piece, kept the back and mounted my CB there. Below is an image, hard to see the cupholder but here is link to ebay if interested: Cup Holder on Ebay

I'm on my second cup holder too. They aren't cheap to replace either unless you get one off of eBay, but who knows if it will be broken already when it arrives. If you plan to buy a new one, contact the Dodge Forum member on here with the user name Parts/Service.

 

Man, I never knew there wer so many dash configurations on these things.

My 01 reg cab has that cupholder (not had a problem with it ever, knock on wood), but the spot that TIMIDONE's aux power port is is where I have the Air bag kill switch. The spot where his killswitch is there's a tiny cubby in mine, and my Aux power port is right below the cigarette lighter.

 

same problem here. i am going to maybe try to rig it up different or try the center console trick.
