Default Chrome bumper peeling

Went to use some chrome polish to clean up the rust on the rear bumper and the chrome is just flaking and peeling off the front is fine. Any suggestions? A new rear bumper is 500+

Mine did the same thing. Eventially I stepped on the top of it to get into the bed one day and half the bumper broke off and on my *** I went. Also be careful around the peeling chrome because it is razor sharp and it cut me deep a couple of times. I found a really good replacement on Ebay and its been on there ever since. Look on there and see what you can find.
