Haha I'd guess they have something to do with it however not a problem to just put it in 4wd to get out. I've been in pletny of other trucks I've had to put in 4wd or seen have to be put into 4wd to get out of situations like that.
Check the factory tag under the hood, it will tell you what diffs you have and gear ratio.
Dodge did equip some 4x4 with front and rear LSD. They called it a "Trac-Loc" differential. Mine has it and I'd bet many others do too.

I pretty much can't bank on anything my doors or hood say. A couple of the doors and hood were replaced from the loser who owned this truck before. He obviously had a little too much fun in the truck and had to visit the junkyard a few times.
