HELP ANYONE?
I have a 2000 dodge ram quad cab 5.9 liter 4x4, the steering feels nice and tight when i first get in and drive but after about 4 or 5 miles it slowley starts to get a loose feeling and then a knocking feeling up through the column when hitting bumps. i can notice it when taking off and hitting the brakes. it doesnt seem to sway its more when theres forward\backword rocking. ive changed both swaybar links and everything else feels tight. i have an appointment with the dealer tomorrow which i would like to avoid any suggestions? the truck has 84000 on it.
clucking steering wheel.
There's a fix on d o d g e t a l k.com for this but it's like a $60 kit and I've not had any experience with it personally. Some people here will recommend the borgeson (sp?) replacement shaft. Expect to be bent over hard by the dealer for ar replacement shaft that will just wear and do the same thing later on.
