K&N
I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500...and i was thinking about putting some K&N after market stuff on...and one of my friends told me not too..because if off roading, the air filter will suck up rocks and debris and shatter it. That true?
K&N is not the best filter out there.[:'(]
There are different manufacturers of similar filters.
I've used AFE (Advanced Flow Engineering) filters in all my rides.
Don't worry about sucking debris, none of the filters out there will pass small rocks or debris of similar size.
If you really worried about debris getting stuck during off roading put 1 or more layers of pantyhose over the filter. Then when is time to clean just trow away the pantyhose.
I've done this for last 6 years - no problems.
