i don't think you need to worry about low end loss with a bigger exhaust. i have headers and dual flowmaster 40s 2.25" i didn't notice any loss, but did notice the chirp going into second gear at WOT. with the headers, the truck runs like a beast.
It's the 2.25" that keeps the low end...

Maybe I missed it somewhere... but what are the specs on your truck... is it a QC? 4X4?

Removing the cat will open up more problems. I will bet that you will lose your low end then. Adding headers does not cause you to lose your low end. It may even add some. But losing your cat will. Not only will you lose low end, but you will have a check engine light come on, then your rig will run too rich. Unless something is done to the O2 sensors, like using a sim or something. I investigated into running straight pipes on mine. I wanted the power and noise, but it comes with a price. You will gain more HP but lose the torque. Open up your throttle body too much and you will lose low end as well.

I agree... a friend of mine put in a larger pipe between the cat and the muffler and lost some low end, it's best to get a high flow cat from carsound and slap it in there.
