2wd here. Are they greaseable? What should I look for as far as too much play? Can't turn driveshaft by hand, even a little.

i replaced mine with some from advance, they have the grease nipple. the stock ones dont. if there is no play in the shaft then the u joints are fine.

 

I assume you raised the rear to take any torque pressure off the shaft.

 

+1 on raising the rear up to see if you really have any play. I just replaced mine with some greasable ones from O'Reilly (Precision I think was the brand name).

I had a horrible squeek in mine, as one of the grease cups had gone completely dry, and turned the needle bearings into dust.

Do you have any clunking/squeeking issues? They are cheap to replace with new ones that allow you to grease them, good insurance!

 

Lifted it. Can't find a clunk I've got, can't figure out how to reproduce it.
