the only way to learn is to do it... knowing where to find the answers (or who to talk to, in this case forums) is the best thing.

last weekend I had my son & his friend upgrade the brakes on my '01 jetta, they both learned alot and are gaining confidence in their wrenching skills (both are 17).

never did play with the timing adjustments since I live in CA and would have to do alot of work for smog if I did...(setting it back to stock timing)

agreed i sat back for a few hours with a 12 pounder thaught about what im getting my self into then went for it lol

she's is complete today except for the transmission pressure line that goes into the cooler has a leak (stripped thread on the nut), and the heater return tube that goes into the water pump is leaking?? i have no idea why i replaced the oring but not the water pump its a newer pump.

any ideas for quick fix?
