Default question about instrmnt panel

have a 99 ram 2500 4wd quad cab 5.7 ltr (love it) Pulling a travel trailer down highway, all at once the speedometer quit and the BRAKE and ABS lights came on. The brakes continued to work, but the lights remained on on the instrument panel.Fuses look OK.An inexpensive computer diagnostic device says there is a "speedometer sensor failure". Any advice? Will this eventually impact the brakes?
