air only out defroster

i have a 98 dodge ram 1500 and when i turn the vent or floor on the air all blows out the defrosters by the windshield. anybody know what the problem is and how i can fix it.

hi you have a vacuum leak.
what is happening is the vents are controlled by vacuum from the engine. if the vacuum is lost only the defrosters willworkit is a safety default.

check valve from the motor to the firewall /vent system. swap it and you'll be good to go.

my vaccum cansister under the cawl pass side below windsheild had a large crack in the seam.
