No overheating at all. The engine was running rough and was very hard to start when cold. I also noticed a while back a wheezing sound comming from the engine, don't know if this is related to a bad valve or not. Just had the exhaust bracket replaced on the maniford because of corrosion. I have about 187,000 km on the van. I use it to pull a 20' enclosed car hauler trailer most of the time so it gets a good workout. I'm pretty sure it only has one catylitic converter. I'll get them to check it anyway.

if it does have 2 cats, get them tested... temp in should equal 50~100 deg less than the temp out, if it's not hotter on the output than the input, it's not working correctly. if it's hotter on the input than the output, it's plugged and you should get it fixed asap.

Just got the van back from the shop. The #6 exhaust valve was full of carbon. It was cheaper to get a complete head and valve assembly from Chrysler than getting the new valves sent out for rebuild. They also had to replace one exhaust manifold because it was warped and didn't fit properly on the new head. Anyway the total damage for the repair was just $2031 Cdn not including the $500 tune up they performed before. Not too cheap I'm afraid. Thanks for all the info.
