As far as I know, the IAC is only for idle. At WOT, its not used? In which case wouldn't cause a loss of power. Just thinking out loud

i changed mine when i did my o2 sensor swap. smoothed things out, but really couldnt tell ya what the IAC affected, as it was mostly the o2 being burnt up.

Well it does open up completely at WOT. It may restrict a little if the port is blocked but not enough to really matter. Still it may be a good idea to give it a good cleaning before it does fail. Mine never really failed. It broke. The port my IAC moves in wasso gummed up with carbon it broke the rod off of the IAC motor. The best IAC around is the stock IAC. After market ones are known to cause a lot of problems. Keep this in mind.
