Default I need speedo reproraming...

I called all three stealerships around here and they all said $100+ to recalibrate my speedo. Does anyone within a reasonable distance of the 28479 zip code have the means to reset a 99 Ram, 5.2L 5-speed? I'm gonna end up getting a ticket, and I'd sooner buy the module myself than pay the hundred dollars...

Just buy a Hypertech. Thats what I did. It not only calculated my speedo but also did other cool things. Make sure you check it with a gps or something when done though. I when I set mine for 33" tires it was off. I ended up having to set it for like a 32.25" tire or something for it to be right even though my tires are bigger than that. It got it right just took some playing with.

it could be off due to tire wear as well.. 33's usually have PLENTY of tread and as you know when they wear down to minimal tread they aren't 33's anymore.. they might end up at like 32.75's get my drift?

Best method I've found is to actually measure the tire. With 40 lbs. of air in mine (50 is max) my 35" tires actually measure just a hair over 34.5". With my Superchips set at 34.5" I'm within 1 mph according to my GPS...
