Default PRND Cable linkage reinstall

Well, today I was gonna reinstall the few pieces of my interior that has been sitting around. My dad and I finally got around to painting the large dash bezel that goes around the guages and radio to match the color we're painting the truck - Viper Red . Anyway, before I installed the bezel I wanted to install the PRND cable to where it belongs. I located the cable and the lever, but I just don't know where it needs to be routed. Right now, it starts on the right of the steering column and is routed on top of the steering column. I just dont think thats how it is supposed to be, considering my lever doesnt show up for anything besides "Park". Any ideas? (and for those who dont know, the linage should be hooked on to the lever on the left of the steering column underneath the kick panel)

Default RE: PRND Cable linkage reinstall

well i went out to take a picture, but its all covered by the knee panel, some i'm going by memory. as i recall, it comes around the bottom of the column, from the right side (passenger) to the left (driver). there are 2 or 3 or 4 plastic pieces including an adjustable wheel thingy.

there's a fair picture on page 570 of the 2001 service manual, located in the diy section.
