I have an idea!!
OK, everyone say, uh-oh. But, if our front 4X4 axles need the vacuum actuator to engage, couldn't we put limited slip differentials in them and they not lock till you drop it in 4WD? This would be much cheaper than an air locker....
Its been done. Does work! I've wanted to put dual LSD's in. There is a guy on youtube who did do this. Check it out.

Awsome! I happen to have a rear axle with the same ratio and a limited slip differential. Can I pull it out and install it in my front end? How hard is it to get it not to whine?
