odd idiot light questions ***UPDATE***
ok first of all I have a 99 ram with about 91800 miles on it, the only thing I really have don to it is the round air cleaner setup. that being said I have 2 weird questions to rack your brain. First of all I have been getting a CEL when I am low on fuel (less then a quarter tank) my gas light will come on then about 20 miles later the CEL will come on. The light stays on untill I get gas, I thought it might be the brand of gas but tried other stations with no solution, any thoughts? second I went out for lunch today and noticed that the brake and ABS lights were both on... checked the fluid and it was fine, the brakes feel fine to me no squishiness or anything like that and the truck stops normally as well. On another note, possibly related to the lights my speedomter stopped working today, but only below 30 MPH, once I go above 30 it jumps right up and when I fall below 30 it drops back down to 0. I am at a complete loss since I know nothing about ABS and was hoping someone on here would be able to enlighten me. thanx for you thoughts and suggestions as always.
first off let me appolagize for not searching the forum before posting this I was really pressed for time and needed an answer fast. that being said when the VSS was suggested I searched for that and low and behold it was indeed the speed sensor in the rear end, threw a new one in and got out my big ole handy can of problem be gone. whole project including picking up the part from the stealership took under an hour. I also got to visually violate the new challengers that were being dropped off to the dealer while I was there, the owner of the stealership even let me sit inside and check everything out as long as I promised not to drool too much.
