Default Strange ABS problem

2001 Ram 1500 quad cab sport 4X4, 318 auto. Recently, ABS and BRAKE light would come on while driving, sometimes going back off while still driving, or acting normal at next startup. I don't know if it's somehow related, but it was during a recent rainy spell we had. But the brakes acted normally. Now though, the ABS and BRAKE light stay on, and sometimes the brakes act funny. You can be driving along, get on the brakes hard, and sometimes the whole truck will shake badly. Not side to side like a bad track bar (been there, done that with my 1 tons), but more of a pulsating shake. The weird part is, it might do it twice in a row, then brake normally the next 3 times, from the same speed. I pulled the ABS fuses out, and it makes no difference at all.

Speedometer works normally, brake lights work normally, checked all fuses. I'm at a total loss as to the problem. Please HELP...

I've been having a similar issue with my '99. The ABS and Brake lights will intermittently turn on. They're off most of the time and it seems like they come more during rainy weather. I don't seem to have the braking issue though. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Assuming you both have 4 wheel ABS , First check the fluid level , then you should check and make sure the front hub bearings are not shot, then make sure your calipers are sliding freely. If these check out ok , clean the sensors and check the wiring . If you can't find anything , you need to have a scanner pull any codes and go from there.

And actually the pulsating shake would be normal as long as the brakes are not locking up. But the light going on and off is obviously not.
