Default Reverse Band Bolt

I'm trying to find a socket that fits the reverse band square bolt. IIRC I think I read that it was a 1/4 square, but when i went to sears they looked at me like I was nuts for asking about a square socket, I'm starting to think maybe I am. Anyone know where I can find one?

Did you try a 12 point socket? IIRC that is what I used. It may have been a metric socket.

No, didn't try to use a 12 point. I just figured there would bea specific socket for the job and I didn't want to strip out the bolt and then be worse off than I was now. I'll see if I got one that fits though.

Thanks

Edit:Not sure why, but the forum seems to be substituting quotes for my apostrophes, you get the point though.

Forum has been doing that for a while. There is a tool for it but good luck finding one. I think I found a socket that was just a hair smaller and was able to lightly tap it on. And it came right off after.

There is such a thing as 8 point sockets. I know snap-on has them. I've looked at several places locally with out finding them. [sm=americanasmiley.gif]

As above ask for an 8 point socket (sometimes called a double square)

Sears should have it. Looks like this

Cool, thanks guys. I'll add a set of those to my tool chest as soon as I get back to sears. Otherwise, for those in need a metric 9 will do the trick but its not the best fit.
