Default Where to start with mods

Not sure if this is the right area, but I am just wondering what are some of the main mods that folks do to these trucks (I have a 1998 1500 single cab 5.4 v8). I would like to do some appearance mods (grill, lights, front clip...). But my main question is:

If your truck came without power locks and windows. Can it easily be converted, but buying the hardware from a wrecked truck? If so what years can I look for? Also are there any interior mods I should go for?

This is my first truck and my first dodge, so sorry if I seem a lil A.D.D-ish.

Any input or advice is greatly appreciated. Also I am into building 5.0's so for us we have 50resto.com is there a resource similar for Dodge trucks?

Not really sure if you can do the power door locks, i'll let someone who knows for sure answer that. I do know that they make kits for hot rods which you could probably adapt over to your truck...

how do you want to mod the front clip??? are you thinking of a sport conversion?

best I could suggest is sit down and start with what you want the most for your truck.

congrats on your first truck

Yes I want a nice sporty truck. Smooth and maybe some mods to make it look like the newer years. Like some HID's if they have them for dodges. But the big thing is electric locks and maybe power windows. That is the only thing that is killing it for me right now.

Thanks for the reply. Any idea where I can look for the elctric lock kit for hot rods?

From what I've read about HID's these headlight housings don't seem to react well at all to a pnp HID kit and you really need to do it right and do a retrofit if you are going to put HID's in.

What is a good resource to buy parts for my truck on the web (besides ebay and craigslist). I think I want to to start with upgrading the nose/front clip and somehow doing power locks/windows if possible.

Found one lock kit, has anyone tried this conversion?

Talking headlights I am very impressed with Sylvania's Ultra series bulbs. Bright white light high beams are awesome. If your lenses are discolored I swear by CV Headlight Restore at Advance Auto.

And from what I have experienced, they work extremely well in our housings.

5.4 this isnt a 5.4 for dodge , you have a 5.2 or 5.9 or 3.9
