'98 Ram TPS??? Please HELP!
I have a '98 Ram with the 5.9L engine in it. It's surging which would be a sign of a bad TPS. Now I haven't had the chance or money this last week to replace it. So here's the question: would a bad TPS cause a misfire in the #2 and #6 cylinders when I kick it down to the floor??? I went to pass someone when I kicked it down and it started spitting and backfiring basicly and wouldn't take off like a rocket as it normally would. Of couse I was only able to read the codes in it and not actually hook it up to a scanner to see what all was going on with it. The codes were the misfire and then bank #1 O2 sensor. I do believe this is the O2 sensor that I just replaced about 1.5 months ago.
If anyone here has any ideas with this, PLEASE help me with this. It's so frustrating and I don't have the money until another week so if I can find the problem first then I know what money is going to be spent once I get paid again.
I'm an OTR truck driver and just changed trucking companies, so I'm in between payrolls and just sucks.
So again, PLEASE HELP if you can!!
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for this cleaning link. I will be doing this to see what happens. Also would WD-40 work for cleaning this or would there be too much residue left behind? I have used it to clean out electrical units, but I know every item is different.
Now on this same note, how many more people would agree 100% that it's the TPS.
