Default Turning problems like drive line windage

I need some help figuring out what I am dealing with hereon an ’00 1500 4x4. When I turn I can feel lurching in the steering wheel, but rides smooth while driving straight. I kinda feels like drive line windage but I am not in 4x4. Has anyone experienced this before? What was the cause and fix? Thanks in advance!

I tried a search for something similar, but found nothing. My guess is because I do not know what I am dealing with to put the right words in the search field.

It may just be that your steering shaft is movingaround causing feedback in the steering wheel.Pop the hood and see if you can move the steering shaft around. If it moves you may have play in your lower column.

Yes, there is a little play. Not much though. Would that be cause to replace the shaft or can it beadjusted up?

I washoping it is notsome front end problems that might existbut I can't see, only feel when I turn.[sm=icon_stickpoke.gif]
