Default Front axel seals

well @ 112,000 miles.. the seals have gone bad went through water an i always check th diffs for water.. so now i need to know how difficlt this change will be.. or if this is a dealer job.

I didn't do mine but, from what I understand, you have to pull the whole front end apart.

mine are leaking a little also. I am going to use a lucas oil additive to make the seals swell up a little. from what i have heard it really works for minor leaks.

I have had mine replaced twice already in last 2 years at dealer. guess what. its leaking again. taking it back before the year warenty is up in August.

They will go bad if the ujoints are bad , so check em. And on the passenger side there is a bushing in the end of the output shaft where it connects to the intermediate shaft that could be worn or missing. And there is also a bearing at the CAD end of the intermediate shaft. Remove the CAD and see how much play you have in there.

i just replaced front axel seals this weekend, it took about a day and a half its amoderately difficult job considering you do have to take the front end totally apart. only do the job if you feel comfortable with it, if not then take it some where because you could seroiusly mess up gears,seals, bearing and who knows what else
