Default abs/brake light and speedo

Hey all, I have a 99 ram 360. Yesterday while driving my abs/brake lights came on. My brakes are fine my parking brake is no engaged and now I dont have a speedometer.

Can anyone help me out and point me in the right direction on what can be causing this? Is it some sort of sensor?

Thanks in advance to all who reply

I know the 99 has the speed sensoronthe tailshaft of the transmission on the drivers side (believe that is the last year in that position). These trucks also only have rear ABS that sensor is on the top of the diff. Odd that both those things happened at the same time. Speed sensor is just a magnetic pick up may be covered in sludge. Clean it first, have a rag ready to stuff the hole, then try the speedo again. Still dont work replace-cheap part.

Care to explain why a rag is needed? I had the same thing happen with my 98 last week.

Hi, The symptoms you are describing are most likly the abs sensor on top of the rear dif. did you go through deep water or mud recently? On another dodge forum this was brought up alot. It was suggested to unplug the sensor and clean up both ends. When mine did it when i cleaned it up and it went away.

" Care to explain why a rag is needed?" Uhhh , so no tranny fluid leaks out and makes a mess would be my guess.

Nope, truck has never been 4 wheeling or through deep water. I did however have it in a field of high grass the day the lights all went on.

I guess I can start with changing the rear abs sensor then work to the sensor on tranny.

Thanks for everyones help

If i remember correctly the sensor is about $60.00. Before you buy one try unpluging the wires and cleanup both ends.
