Default Runnin Stacks?

I heard from a friend that in Texas, it's now illegal to run stacks on diesels and you can't have an exhausttip on your diesel truck either. Some kind of emissions BS. I can't find it anywhere on the internet, and I was wonderin if any of ya'll might know...?

I am probably wrong here but I seem to remember that diesels didn't fall under the emissions laws and that even though you see the smoke they actually burn cleaner with better emissions that gasoline vehicles.

That's silly. Exhaust tips aren't going to effect the emmissions your ENGINE puts out.

I've seen a lot of Dodge diesels come with a tip as part of Mopar Chrome Package when they're brand new.
