Default differences between 95 and 99 5.9

I've started working on putting a 5.9 into my 3.9 92 Dakota.

I picked up an engine today and was told I was getting a 95 motor (which is what I asked for). But when I got home and looked at the tag that was put on it when it was pulled the motor came from a 99.

So I'm looking at the electrical connections and vacuum ports on the 3.9 and comparing them to the 5.9. There are less vacuum ports and one less sensor (temp?, a little one right behind the thermostat tube) on the 5.9.

Assuming that this not strictly a difference between the 3.9 and the 5.9, it's reasonable to believe that there are some differences between a 95 5.9 and a 99 5.9 that can probably be attributed to the transition to OBD2 and year to year improvements.

Is this the case?
Should I try to get the 95 to make things easier?
Is it possible to add the vaccuum ports and sensor boss or should I get an earlier intake manifold (if I can't get the earlier motor)?

Default RE: differences between 95 and 99 5.9

Engine wise there is no difference. But electronly yes lots of differnces. In the dak 1st gen forum there are a few who have done the 3.9 to 5.2 Here is a Good post https://dodgeforum.com/m_1276458/tm.htm
Now the 5.9 is almost exact to the 5.2 just differnt flywheel and harmonic ballancer. everything will work. So just get a pre 965.2 or 5.9 set up like comp wires injectors and all.
I have done a 5.2 to 5.9 swap. Its easy. Just do a search you can find lots of info.
