I just cleaned mine today, i pulled it out and did it manually. Makes life easier if you take the throttle body off to get at it

Dont know why i cleaned it, still no brakes in the damn thing

its really very simple, just put the sensor in the same way it came out, otherwise the plug in will not reach

good luck, but i've never had any luck cleaning it. cleaning will only help if you have a buildup of crud on the end of the pintle, in the well, or in the air port at the bottom of the well, such that its obstructing the airflow, or failing to seal up tight. my IAC problems have always been the operation of the pintle itself, where its supposed to move a certain amount under control of the PCM and/or report back to the PCM its exact position. when mine goes out, it really goes out, where the PCM can't control the damn thing and it either idles way high, way low, or surges up/down as it moves in/out uncontrollably.
