Motor Swap Question
Gettin Ready to pull the blown 5.2 from my '97 1500 4x2
I have almost everything unbolted except for transmission, exhaust& mountsso far, plan on pulling just motor-not tranny.
I was just wondering if there were any tips, advise, common problems that I should be aware of when pulling & dropping in motors in the ram pick-ups from someone who has done this swap before.
Motors look to be set back in the engine bay pretty far, so I thought there may be some common issues that you all have delt with, but I hope not!
Thanks for the tips!

Remove the intake manifold and put the cherry picker into the valley as low as possible. Have a jack under the front of the trans and lift very slightly.
Lift the engine a bit after the boltsare out and slide it back off the dowls.May have to jiggle things a bitto split and then its just lift a bit, roll it backand up.
No need to remove the hood or rad crossbar.
Take it out over the fender or over the crossbar.
I put 2 threaded rods through the eng/trans holes in the trans and thenput a2x4 thatsits on bothframe rails and support the trans that way and remove the jack. That way can move or lift the truck without worrying about the trans.
