New alternator and radio buzz

New alternator and radio buzz
Hi - Ever since I changed the alternator on my truck, there is an annoying buzz with radio reception it is especially bad with AM reception. I have to sheepishly admit that I purchased a reman model from Napa instead of a new OEM part (tough times for Contractors). Any explanation as to why that is occuring. Will a simple noise filter solve the problem? I am curious to know what is behind the mysterious buzz I can't get the ballgame in my truck this year (probably a good thing seeing how the Rockies are doing this year!) James

Make sure you have clean contacts everywhere. A bad ground can cause this.
If that doesnt sort things out, consider taking the part back and exchanging it for another. Sometimes the reman companies cut corners when rebuilding and only partially rebuild. (IE, old parts/missing parts)
