Default High performance coil

I have a 318 in a 97 ram 4x4. Just wondering if a accell high performance coil would make a difference in performance? Other mods are Fastman TB, Airaid intake, and exhaust.

Thanks for any info

Try an MSD coil. Replacement is p/n 8228.

I had one on my 1992 ram and it was about three months befor eit screwed up. It made the truck miss really bad, sounded like i had a humungous cam it. Then when you tried to acelerate it would sputter and die. So get the MSD.

I have the MSD coil, as you can get the part at your local O'Reillys. They carry the Blaster 2 coil, part #8203. They also carry #8202, don't get that one! It doesn't come with the adapter to hook up to your stock coil wire. The 8203 is the same coil, plus that and a resistor (and a few other accessories). You don't need the resistor.

I was reading some info here, and discovered that you don't have to buy the MSD brackets to mount it either. I went down to Menards and bought some hose clamps, and mounted it to the stock coil location using those. Worked great, and cheaper to. Will post pictures in a few...

more than likely you are not going to "feel" any difference, unless there is something wrong with your old one.
