Any CAI will better than the stock, however...

If you're looking for pure power and cheap, you might want to acquire the open element intake. Search the forum for "FIPK No More". If your exhaust is free-flowing enough, and especially if you get a Fastman TB later down the road, this is a great, inexpensive upgrade.

Otherwise, the Volant is the way to go. Don't pay over $300 for it, which is normally what a lot of places sell it for. I paid just over $200 for mine, found it on sale. Its a real enclosed CAI that gets its air from the stock intake location, so less heat can get to the air it sucks up, and it has a hole in the front so you can add a sort-of ram air tube later if you want. The K&N or AEM kits basically just give you a bigger filter, same thing the open element does, because they still suck in hot air from the engine compartment, not really a CAI.

EDIT: Here is one, for example, and he allows you to submit "best offers". I'd do that. Ignore the HP and TQ gains all these CAIs claim, they are unrealistic, as well as their MPG gain claims.

EDIT 2:
This is before I added my custom air tube going from that hole to the front grille (in front of radiator). I will add a newer later.

The round air filter or Edelbrock triangle air filter like I have seems to be a way more popular option.

If I were you id say away from those "CAIs". IMHO, theyre not worth the price for what you get. Go with better free flowing air and get an open element like the 14x3. Free flowing is way better than what very little colder air your going to get.
