Default Brake line leak near gas tank

Well i found i have a brake line leak inside the frame and the gas tank is right there so i cant get to it. In your guys opinion is it an easy fix or should i bring it to someone? Im kinda short on cash so keep that in mind. Thanks!

Don't fix the break, run a new line along the frame. Abandon the old broken line in place.

thats a good idea except for the fact the the new line above the tank will be rattling around if not mounted correctely

And if it rubs or vibrates too much against something it will just wear a hole in the new line

This is very common on these trucks.The best way is to drop the tank and replace the entire line.It can be repaired with a piece of line and some compression fittings,but why rig it up?It's not that expensive for brake line so why not do it right?

Had the same thing happen to my 2000 Ram Sport. Got a new line from the Chrysler dealership I work at for like $20. Your best bet is to get it from a dealership.

I would like to replace the two steel lines that come from the master under the hood. its the two that go down to the frame, they are really rusty. Are there better solutions that will not rust, or could I paint or do something to the lines to prevent them from rusting later on again?

I guess I should check my line back there too...

jstnumber73 - you best fix those lines quick incase you dust another Hemi... you are going to need to stop that Hemi Killa!

Same thing happened to me. I dropped the tank and fixed it "right". Easy for me though, it's not my daily driver. Didn't matter how long it took. I also did the ones in the engine compartment before they broke. They didn't look good (rust).

lol Ive never dusted a hemi. Only buy a truck length. Since Ive gotten back to Florida Ive been very conservative with the fuel.

Well i took the truck to a shop to fix it and it turns out they just cut the line from half way back and replaced that. Its been about a month now and guess what. The front part of that line just busted. lol Do you guys know which parts and tools ill need to replace this myself? Cause Im really broke! lol
